Not exactly related, but a similar topic about consumers’ loyalties and advertising which might interest your students: “In the Licensing Biz, Nostalgia is the Future.” It discusses how lucrative nostalgia branding (reviving brands like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Strawberry Shortcake, Care Bears, etc.) can be, rather than spending money on developing a new brand which customers may not immediately identify with.
