Gillian "Gus" Andrews recently completed her EdD in Communications in Education at Teachers College. Her dissertation studied misunderstandings on the Internet, and was written predominantly
on a public wiki. In the 2010-2011 school year, Gus will be continuing this research as a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Everyday Education, with the support of a grant from Google.
From 2008 to 2010, Gus was an associate video producer at EdLab, where in August 2008 she pitched an idea for a user-driven media literacy show on YouTube. The result was The Media Show. In 2010, The Media Show was a finalist in the Media That Matters social-issues film festival.
Gus has previously done user research and educational consulting for McGraw Hill and Second Life. She is a regular commentator on the hacker radio show Off The Hook and an organizer of the Hackers On Planet Earth (HOPE) conference in New York City.
